Thoughts On Reality Creation

Excellent post, Craig!

Since witnessing all of the C:S shenanigans over the last year, culminating with the death of Peny and Michael, my doubts about the validity of Lazaris and the material itself have grown to an all time high, including the degree to which we create our realities.

I even wonder at times whether we really do create our realities anymore, or at least to the degree that many of us would like to think that we do. Of course, there are problems with this concept as the universe shows an amazing consistency in even fundamental matter, so it doesn't necessarily make sense that we create our realities some of the time, and yet not others.

Getting to the heart of your post however, I think that I agree with you for the most part-I can remember hearing the way other FOL's that I knew claim certain reality creations/miracles etc, and when things went poorly, they really beat the hell out of themselves.

I also found after a certain point the L. material became so weighty with technique and process that I simply couldn't keep up with it. For some time, I felt really bad about my growing lack of enthusiasm for the material, as I had invested over ten years' worth of money on tapes and workshops, and was so "attached" to the Lazaris material as being the ultimate source of spiritual knowledge.

While Lazaris reminded us many times to not beat ourselves up for failing, how could one not, with such a danger ridden path with spiritual imperatives such as breaking dark laws, dealing with our nemesis, ad infinitum. In addition, Lazaris quite often predicted overly dire consequences for not dealing with various issues in a thorough manner. While every tape or workshop promised greater ease just around the corner filled with more and more miracles, another would come out describing some new challenge to process and deal with. And this is still going on. When does it ever stop? This is not to say that growth doesn't have many stages and inherent challenges within each stage, but I do feel that the landscape that Lazaris describes at times is overly wrought with hidden dangers of various kinds that fly in the face of his oft reminded statement about the universe being a friendly place.

I personally do not know anyone who has achieved the kind of miraculous success that Lazaris describes as "just a belief away" or whatever. and we talking quite a few folks who've been diligently working on this stuff for decades who are still struggling and processing/meditating themselves silly. After working with the material less and less over the last five years, I'm more successful than I've ever been. I can't of course chalk that entirely up to not working with the material anymore, but it does say something.

As far as the overuse of "Yes, but you create your own reality", I certainly heard that statement bandied about by some really arrogant L. people who had nothing better to do than to exercise their spiritual superiority. Quite nauseating, I must say.

What I'd be interested in knowing from any of you is whether you believe that we create our realities totally and completely? Do you think that we can achieve the levels of masetery that L. describes as possible?

Best,

Hi All,

This is my favorite topic, and for me the hardest one to write about.

Both Lynn and Ali have noted the frustrations inherent in the concept of reality creation as taught by Lazaris and approached by many "new age" thinkers.

I believe that the concept that there are specific "metaphysical" techniques which work to create very specific instances of "magic and miracles" is the source of the problem. In my opinion, all these alleged techniques are proposals that we can manipulate the universe to get what we want.
I think it's just a new spin on the old concept of begging God through prayer and promises to be on our side and provide us with some special perks.

How is this approach any different than one of us manipulating another to get what we want from them rather than just asking, or better yet, waiting to see what is put on offer?

It's always worse when we're being manipulated to do or give something that we were planning on anyway. What an insult that can be!

The Universe puts everything on offer IMO, it's up to us what we take, or believe we are allowed to take. But, the Universe is constantly giving, and we are constantly receiving and giving back. Maybe we give crap back, maybe we give diamonds. I would suggest that we give back pretty much the same as we feel "worthy" to take. I think when we tie our worthiness into how well we did some fabricated technique, we create a rather dubious equation.

Ali talks about the pressure to live up to her potential, and Lynn talks about all the woo woo advice and reasons she's given that her processing isn't working. This is where the shaming comes in. We're being set up by investing in bullshit tactics.

The "technique" of reality creation IMO is about BEING in the HERE and NOW. (thank you Ram Dass). We can't manipulate that, we are what we are. We are picking our cheap baubles or precious treasures, sitting and eating at the table, or sitting on the back step eating out of a paper bag. It's all our choice. Some people just haven't learned to read an invitation, and maybe sometimes we think we don't have the right clothes to wear, or that we aren't worthy, or we haven't anything interesting to say.

I think metaphysical "techniques" as taught by Lazaris et. al are about making beautiful clothes, providing clever anecdotes, propping up our egos to feel that we deserve the best seat at the table, but they fail to mention that the Invitation simply reads "come as you are" and "everyone is the guest of honor".

Of course we create our reality, we ARE our reality IMO. We are BEING...HERE....NOW....

I agree with Lazaris when "he" says that our reality can change in the blink of an eye. As our BEINGNESS changes, so does our reality. Maybe it's as simple as being open in one moment, and closed the next.

Here's where the choice comes in. As a part of the celestial orchestra we can be screeching and howling off-key and deafening our fellow music makers so they can't even hear their notes let alone hit a good one, or we can be raising our most beautiful voice, or playing the most exquisite note on a cosmic Stradivarius. That is our choice.

Within that choice are many other choices. Do we practice or not? Do we develop an ear or not? Do we make music or howl like a sick banshee?

As to how we impact each others reality my thought is that our collective BEINGNESS has a "sound". The sound is only as good or bad as our collective harmony or discord. We end up in the part of the "choir" or "orchestra" that our talents are suited to. We go where the sound is familiar. We grow when we tune our ears to a better sound. If we were born into a family of ghetto rappers, or the "Moron Tabernacle Choir" (thanks IMO!) we do better when we stretch our hearing to catch the perfect harmonies and melodies of the "classical" performers. It's all up to us, but it has nothing to do with manipulation. We can't buy our way into the
choir if we have no voice. We won't know what to do with a Stradivarius if we think two spoons connected with a rubberband are the way to make the most beautiful music. For some of us, it is the most beautiful music. We all have our preferences. We can be in whatever band, choir, orchestra we choose.

I think the reality creation "teachers" are trying to convince us that first, we should have a Stradivarius, because they exist, and we're entitled to one, and that once we have one we will automatically be able to play it because we are after all "good enough".

No, us spoon players are not good enough for a Stradivarius if we dont' bother to even make ourselves aware of what they are, how they sound, and why they are so exquisite to listen to.

On this topic of 9-11 or helping out others,
all I can say is that IMO the best we can do is recognize that everyone is singing their own tune, but we all have the ability to take the solo in the choir, or allow our own voice to rise above the rest, sometimes even so brilliantly that the whole universe quiets down to listen.

Or, we can make such a horrific racket that all the Universe wants to do is find a way to shut us up.

The choice is ours, the technique is of our choosing, that which will best allow for us to hit the high note, or simply add to the subtle harmonies of the choir, or sit it out in the audience. One is not necessarily better than the other, and what is good in the moment for one can be poison to another.

The worst technique IMO, is demanding to be given a solo when we haven't bothered to learn how to sing, or showing up in a tuxedo(Peace and Love) and then taking a crap on the table.

Does this make any sense? LOL

Hi Dagaz,

I've been procrastinating responding to your post. Sorry about that!

I question how far apart we actually are in our points of view. Let me try to give my thoughts in different words. My prior post, which I stand by, was stated from the angle of how I don't think we create 100% of our reality. I will now state my position from the angle of how I believe we create some of our reality.

I believe each and every one of us creates their reality to some extent. I believe our thoughts/attitudes/beliefs/etc are a very strong attractor to our reality. However, as long as we have the concepts of impacting others and of having others creating their own realities, these reality attractors will be far from perfect. In a sense, there will be a certain amount of competition for realities. If a given event only involves myself or a few people, I am more likely to have a large impact on the reality created. When there is a huge number of people involved, only one outcome will be brought into existence out of the sea of possibilities. I believe that the possibility that is manifested will be that which has the most attraction - either from a larger number of people attracting such possibility or by a smaller group attracting it with more intensity. Thus, for many the reality creation may be appropriate. However, for many others it may be only partially appropriate or entirely inappropriate.

I agree that it is helpful to take a look at events from a reality creation perspective. However, I am against the obsessive need to try to "figure out" everything that goes wrong. Some reality creations may simply be "accidents" in that the reality creation appropriate for us was not chosen as other creations had more or stronger support from others. As we start to see a pattern develop, I feel it is much more important to investigate since such repetition indicates that we are more likely a "causer" than an "innocent bystander".

Cheers, Craig
