Jach channeled in somebody's home in Mill Valley Marin CAL 1977-8(?).
My wife was there and got a 1 hr private channeling for $5 as I remember it. !! ts never been that cheap sense.
It all seemed quite grass roots, bizarre and real.
No Penny in sight.
Oh yeah, the chair fights! I swear to God I never beat anyone over the head with a chair..honest!!
That was really bizarre for sure, all these "adults" anxiously lining up, holding spaces with pillows, notebooks, crystals, you name it. Then the doors open and this whole crazed mob runs in madly scrambling for the "best" seats. What are the best seats for crying out loud? Come to think of it, I think our pal found them....in the hot tub...
Oh, and we can't forget those who brought their own chairs, sleeping beds, blow up mattresses...you name it!!
Then in the middle of the seminar, Lazaris has to announce that everyone has to play fair, so those up front should move into the back..and of course ....NO ONE EVER DID!!!
Unreal crap!!
Damn, now that I think of it, I wish I had started a service to hold people's place in line...I coulda hired some street people and paid them peanuts...made some big bucks..oh yeah!!!
I swear, I blocked all that out...I liked waiting until the feeding frenzy was over, then strolling in, and grabbing a nice space in the back of the room..always lots of room left over there.
And to think, people also fight over the Magic Time seats.....those people need to eat some beef or something, to get their blood in a less raw form.
GEEZZZ!!!!

I'm not completely clear on the chronology of Lazaris, I know that Jach, Peny, et. al moved around a bit during the 70's.
We have some posters and lurkers here who can provide a better history than I can, but
what I remember is that J P and M arrived in the Bay Area sometime in the late 70's having moved here from the Atlanta area. If I'm not mistaken, they Silva training took place in Michigan, where they were from, so that must have been earlier.
Jach was initially doing channelings out of a friend's bedroom in Berkely around '79. Then they purchased a modest home in Marin County. P and M lived in the house, Jach lived in the garage, where he had a little space where he would hold little meetings and so some channeling and private readings.
I very much suspect that Jach took advantage of this time to hone his skills, practice some trial and error on his presentations, and study his clients.
At some point during that time they were joined by a woman who had been a business partner with Werner Erhardt's (EST) wife. She became a well-know wighead at seminars up until a few years ago, when she mysteriously disappeared.
She was charged with the responsibility of bringing back tasty tid-bits of gossip to Peny, and was known to often as attendees if they had any stories to share.
I'm glad you brought this up, it's good for us to remember that Lazaris did not just one day miraculously appear to a group of people in a crystal filled living room, or a hotel ballroom. The Lazaris experiment had very humble roots.
The public humiliations and abuse began during these humbler and earlier times as well.
It wasn't too long after Jach discovered that he could make a lot of big bucks filling up ballrooms that he got into the MLM business. (or the MLM business inspired the ballroom tactic, I'm not sure which was the chicken and which the egg)
That speaks to me of his lack of faith in his ability to keep this channelling bit going for long, and thought it expedient to nab the crowds while he could by signing them all up in an MLM scam that would provide for him into his declining years. Here we have our first very public peek into the reality creation "successes" of the stellar ones.
It really is helpful to step back and think about how this whole scene unfolded. Most of us met Lazaris for the first time at a polished seminar after the skills had been honed, and the base group of devotees established. It wasn't always that way.
I've also heard that during the early "lean" years Jach and Peny were not above courting those with substantial bank accounts. A story was told of a man who had inherited enough money to have financial independence, but when the vultures were finished with him he was poor, and I believe, dead, of suicide.
Stories are also circulating, with some reliable verification, that M. Prestini (North) arrived with a bag of seed money himself.
I have spent a lot of time and energy searching for information on this gang, and one thing I'll tell you, I've heard lots and lots of stories, and precious few, if any of them were nice or indicative that these were ever decent people.
Many of these stories came from long time followers, some are still followers and believers, all were told with a great and moving sense of sorrow and grief, all reported personal anecdotes of public and private humiliations, and the clear implementation of cult tactics from jump street.
The best thing I've heard about Peny is that some believe that at one time she did have honorable motives and an altruistic vision. All that changed very quickly when the money started to roll in.
I have never heard one flattering, complimentary, or warm comment made about Jach by anyone who has ever known him personally.
A few that come to mind are "psychopathic personality" "nasty little fucker". Actually, they came from notes I've taken during some of these conversations.
I'm scanning through them as I write to refresh my memory. The lurid details have since lost much of their interest to me, I've heard the stories so many times, from so many people, I have the picture bright and clear.
I understand that most of the newer readers here have not heard all these stories, so I don't mind telling them again.
It might be a fun adventure to go back to the posts in the first few months thought, there is a lot reported there.

All information I have recieved is that both Taylor and Mary Beth were fired.
I would like to hear from them also.

We did discuss Gerald here, I'm not sure which thread it was on. The search engine on this site leaves much to be desired. This is canned software we're using, so Ted doesn't have too much ability to improve or tweak it.
Someone who knew Gerald very well told us that Gerald had been having bad headaches for quite some time, but declined to seek medical attention. We were told that he died in his sleep one night, and that there was no memorial or acknowlegement, although I think someone else said that Jach made a brief announcement about it at a seminar.
What was said about Con:Sins reaction to Gerald's death is that instead of doing something to honor Gerald, Con:Sin kind of acted annoyed that he had the nerve to die. Some close to Gerald were very hurt by that.
My observations of Jach, Peny and the gang show me a group of people who have no interest in the social conventions, or understanding and respect for plain good manners. The way Peny's death was handled is another indication of that.
In my opinion, they all behave like Trailer Trash when it comes to anything to do with social interaction.
I don't know if that's just because they were raised by wolves, or that they hold themselves above social convention. Ultimately, it's just about contempt as far as I'm concerned.
Manners is a way to show respect for others. To not practice them is either ignorance or contempt to me.
It's sad about Gerald, a lot of people cared about him. We're told that he was instrumental in getting the word out about Jach/Lazaris in the early days when the gruesome threesome were new to northern California.
It's said that Jach at one time conducted one on one channellings out of Gerald's bedroom, until he moved into the garage of the house he bought with Peny and Michaell.
I guess they didn't even practice respect amongst themselves, given that they were fine with tying up the bread winner in the garage.
Jach also scored only the servants quarters at the current mansion in Orlando. Oh, sorry, that would be more nicely defined as the guest house. Imagine, being only a "guest" in the house your efforts paid for.
I guess you can't give more respect to others than you can to yourself.
All this is heresay, and not presented as fact. The sources are most reliable however.

Yes, I remember when Gerald died. I believe Gerald's death did shock and sadden even that sick group. It sure did me. Even though I think the whole C:S crowd have always been arrogant and bizarre, they don't seem to have been quite so bad back in those days. Of course, it was pre-Forum, so who knows? However, my feeling is that Gerald was kind of looked down upon, as a perennial go-fer. I heard him described as a martyr on more than one occasion, and I mentioned on another thread recently that on one of the earlier tapes, Peeny announces with relief that the distribution of the tapes is now out of Gerald's "mitts," indicating that things will now go right. I think I even remember Lazaris using Gerald as an example of martyr in a workshop -- something about him being upset he didn't have enough money for something, and needing brakes on his car, etc. I suspect he got himself into an eternal knave position, although I think he probably was very instrumental in helping the whole thing build.
Anyway, when he died, there was some kind of an announcement, at least to those "close to Lazaris," about how sad everybody was, and about how Gerald had basically played out whatever it was he was playing out. (Sounds circular? What a surprise. Of course, I am paraphrasing a long ago memory, but I remember it being circular.) They did say that he was still in communication with them, and would continue to work on whatever it was he needed to work on.
But, no public acknowledgement, appreciation, etc.

I believe they consider themselves totally apart, removed and exempt from social convention. I got the impression that Peeny's definition of martyr was doing anything she didn't absolutely feel like doing. Period.
I agree, Katie -- I think it is about contempt, and an unbelievable level of arrogance and being out of touch. Marie Antoinette suggesting the starving people could eat cake, upon being informed they had no bread, comes to mind. ("Let them create a better reality.")
Recently, on one of the threads, someone asked what Peeny had ever done in her lifetime. (Sorry, I am forgetting who posted about this.) I had simultaneously been wondering the same thing. Aside from having majored in political science in college, which qualified her as a world-class expert on all political affairs, domestic and foreign policy, and global economics, not to mention ecological, psychological and sociological issues of all types, she doesn't seem to have any other training nor held any job. Anybody know?
Btw, even in my very limited exposure to the Forum, I saw Peeny use that poly sci major or degree or whatever to absolutely hammer someone and their opinion into the floor. She (very insultingly) claimed total and complete superior knowledge and insight.
I think Gerald had a heart problem of some kind, btw. Anybody remember?
OK, back to work for me,

Does anyone have more information about this?

1979 is the earliest date I can find in my notes, that is when I was told that Gerald was hosting one one one readings with "Lazaris" in his Berkeley bedroom.

I have a friend who claims she first met Jach at a channeling class led by Sanaya Roman in the early 1980s in San Francisco.
Are you still in contact with this friend? Would be interesting to know more, if there is more to know. I looked up Sanaya Roman. The catalogue page on her site, shared with a channeling partner, has some familiar sounding subject matter.

Checking through the site I found a reference to the "plane of causes" and stuff on becoming your higher self. Also familiar fare, could be "synchronicities". Maybe others will see things that seem significant.

Hi,
Jane Roberts (Seth) never endorsed Lazaris.
Jane frequently and repeatedly said that she was uncertain about just who and what Seth was. She and her husband explored a wide range of potential explanations including psychological explanations. Because of this innate caution and her fundamental desire to avoid building a cult or following, she never would have "recommended" another "entity", simply because she wasn't convinced of the legitimacy of channeling.
Added to that, there are many people who have access to everything recorded during the Seth sessions, and there is no mention of Jach or Lazaris.
Jane's philosophy was that she wasn't doing anything that anybody else couldn't do if they chose to. And there was no information being offered that wasn't available elsewhere.
Whether you believe in the Seth material or not (and good arguments exist for both positions), I firmly believe that Jane and Rob had too much integrity to offer a blanket endorsement of channeling, or any specific channeler.
Regards,
George
I had asked her about "Lazaris," since I had never heard of him. I told her that I really liked the Seth books. For her to say that Seth and "Lazaris" were in contact with each other was certainly a way of saying that Seth advocated "Lazaris," in a big way.
I wonder how many Seth readers got the same line (something I think the employee believed) when they wandered into that metaphysical gallery. Surely this misinformation was passed on with the encouragement and approval of the Treacherous Trio.
