Once you have selected a discussion (such as "Lazaris") and are on the main index page that lists all of the threads (topics) for that discussion, there are a couple of important points:
1) The threads are listed with most recently active threads on top.
2) Go to prior pages by clicking on one of the page numbers on the bottom right of the page.
3) To view threads that are older than the default 100 days, select a different entry in the "combo" box on the top right of the page and then hit "go".
Once you have selected and are displaying a thread:
1) If the thread has more than one page, you may jump directly to the page from the main list of threads (each page will have a link).
2) You may alternatively use the page number links listed on the bottom left of a thread page.
To add a post to a thread:
1) Select and display the thread.
2) Press the "Post Reply" button on the bottom of the thread.
3) Information on entering bold text, italics, quotes, and images may be found by clicking on the "UBB code is on" link on this page.
4) Information about "smilies" may be found by clicking on the "Smilies legend" link on this page.
5) Enter the text of your post in the provided box. You may want to first compose your response in a word processor with a spell check capability and then cut and past your post into the box.
6) Select a "smilie" to be used for your entire post. The default is a picture of a document.
7) Enter your name and password if it is not already entered.
8) Hit "submit reply" or "spell check"
9) It is strongly recommended that you review your post as it is now displayed. If you mess up your formatting, it will now be very visible.
10) If you have added a post to a multi-page thread, you will have to navigate to the last page to see your new page. Further, depending on browser settings, you most likely will have to click the refresh button on your browser to see your newly entered post. This is only necessary on multi-page threads.
To correct a post:
1) Click on the edit/delete icon (a page with a pencil) on the post heading line
2) Correct text
3) Hit "submit now"
To reply to a post:
1) Click on the "reply with quote" icon (a page with a red arrow) on the post heading line
2) You will most likely want to edit out part of the quote
3) Hit "submit reply"
- ALTERNATIVELY -
1) Create a new post
2) Use cut/paste to add the quote in question
3) Manually add the quote commands around the text in question
4) Proceed as normal
There is no ability to delete a post (other than the first post of a thread). Instead, edit the post and delete all of the text except for perhaps one character (such as a period). Note: DO NOT delete the first post of a thread if there are any other posts in the thread. To do so will delete all posts in the thread!
If you are curious as to what technique a fellow poster is using (such as their use of quotes or images), you should click on the edit button for that post. Although you will not be able to change the entry, you will see the text along with any commands they entered.
Finally, please note that the search facility is very limited. First, it is not guaranteed
to find all searches. Second, sometimes it lists out of date search information.
