Jade wrote: I think the stuff about the past "seeding" of undesirable futures did too. Before getting involved with the "Lazaris" scheme, I liked Seth a lot. He always said, "The point of power is in the present." That feels much more empowering to me than Spooky's unnerving tangents. I love the simplicity of Seth's statement--roots you in the here and now, both feet on the ground, solidly in the present moment.
I always had problems with Lazzy's "The future creates the present against the backdrop of the past" because all it really had going for it was a kind of lyricism that felt profound, but crumbled to pieces when the idea was deconstructed; who wants to live in a reality in which the power ultimately lies in your ability to grab onto the "right" future, depending on "grappling hooks" to get the job done (and what a lovely image, that--calls to mind sides of raw beef swinging in a meat warehouse.) I always felt like it was a sly, subtle way to displace people's sense of power in the present. I've also come to think that the (mis) packaging of self into the equivalent of multiple entities (child, adolescent, young adult, adult, the negative ego, the positive ego, the martyr, the victim, the future self, the Observer, the Nemesis, >> I started with Seth too. I think that is why Lazaris always sounded a bit odd and convoluted to me!! He said good stuff as far as examining personal payoffs and behavior..areas where Seth may have said too little - for my needs. But then L just gosh darn just blew it with all these self components and 7's and futures hooked and all and I must admit I have never even been one for crystals! ;-) Jemille

Hi All,I don't know...whenever I tried to do that exercise about choosing the right future, I never could keep a straight face. The image was too much like "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", except while travelling in beams of light through time, we weren't inside a telephone booth with a broken antenna on top. Cheers, Karolina [This message has been edited by Karolina (edited 03-08-2001).]

Hi Jemille, OH yes, that "pipeline of future's" was another distracting, disturbing concoction that kept us focused away from the present, out of our power. In another post I mentioned something that came to me. "Not mapmaker but... Maker." Designating us as "map makers" was a seductive way of saying this is how you are especially unique as a group, this is your destiny -- a form of being "the Chosen Ones." WOW and map maker instruction only comes from the great Sparky Themselves. So when not fully caught up in this or that tape or technique, or trying to clear out the human crappola, or program for Then Artistry and Mastery of Absolute Ultimate Uncomprising Successful Success, there was our true calling of spiritual cartologyto attend to. If that sounds vague, it's because it is! For me, seeing my self as "Maker" fits well with the "present is the point of power." Feels centered and focused. One thing Seth said that I didn't take nearly enough to heart, "You are your own authority." Love, Jade
